"We are Sex Bob-Omb and we're here to make you think about death and get sad and stuff!" - Scott Pilgrim
Wow, welcome back, everyone. What a semester it's been. The last time I wrote anything was way back in August, reviewing the delightful film Christopher Robin. Since then, I've seen . . . a large number of movies, any of which I could've taken time to write about, but guess what? I . . . didn't. Don't worry, I'll make up for it with some bomb 2018 wrap-up posts. So today we're back with something a little different. I wanted to finally write all about a movie I've grown to adore in the past year, and do it unrestrained by my typical "Review - non-spoiler/spoiler" format. So with that said, let's take a look at Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
"Han . . . Solo, then." - Some Random Imperial Officer
Welcome back, everyone! So Solo: A Star Wars Story hit theaters over Memorial Day weekend to . . . mixed reception, to say the least. So today we'll be looking at Solo - the origin story that answers all the questions about a character that you may or may not have wanted to know! I hope I'm not prematurely giving away my thoughts on this movie . . . regardless, let's dive in!
"It was the only way" - Dr. Steven Strange
Well here we are. A decade of cinematic history has been leading to this: a movie that has been hyped up since Thanos first reared his ugly head in the post-credit stinger of The Avengers. That's right, Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters this weekend, and of course, I just had to see it opening night. So today we're talking non-spoilers, as broadly & briefly as I can, and then we'll get into the nitty-gritty of just what the F#CK did I watch?! Let's do it.
*P.S: While I will be trying to provide as much evenhanded criticism of this film as I can, I really have no objectivity here. You've been warned!* *P.P.S: I'm finishing up this review really late because, finals week guys. Whatcha gonna do?* "You should tell her." - Marcus Abbott Yes, yes, welcome back everybody! I haven't posted since my Black Panther review, primarily because I've just been so goddamn busy with classes. (Did you know being an engineering major actually takes a lot of work? Who woulda thought, right?) It's been a long hiatus for sure, but today Everyman Film Reviews is back, baby! And today we're talking about one of my Most Anticipated Films of 2018, A Quiet Place. So let's get started, but keep in mind...
"This is not going to go the way you think." - Luke Skywalker
Ah yes, here we are at long last! After it came out nearly a month ago, I'm finally ready to review Star Wars: The Last Jedi! I saw it for a second time earlier this week, I took a lot of notes, and yes . . . I saw it alone. And no, that's not depressing. #doitfortheblog, y'all! Anyway, let's finally talk about my second favorite film of 2017!
*Full warning: expect FULL SPOILERS in this review. It's been out for a month now, and honestly, you've seen it. And if you haven't, well . . . what the hell is wrong with you?* "Oh God, I'm sozzled!" - Merlin
Merry Christmas! So yeah . . . this happened. Still haven't seen Star Wars yet, and I decided that I need to catch up with a few big releases I missed this year. (Mainly to pad out my Best & Worst of 2017 Lists . . . stinger!) And for whatever reason, I decided to start with the most likely turd-bomb I could think of: the latest Transformers movie! So today we're gonna try something a bit different for EFR. It's a new segment called "F-Minus!" Instead of doing my typical spoiler-free/spoiler review, I'm just gonna talk (maybe rant) about this movie for awhile. Full SPOILERS ahead! Not that anyone cares.
*UPDATE*: I've now seen Star Wars, I've been thinking about it all weekend, and I'm still not ready to review it yet. I'd like to get one more viewing in before I make a call on it. So enjoy this instead! "Oh, I believe in truth. But I'm also a fan of justice." - A Superman
Welcome back, everyone, to Everyman Film Reviews! It's like Wheel of Fortune but with less games and nobody cares about it! Hang on... whatever. I'll stand by that statement. Today we're talking Justice League! (cue shredding guitar riff) It's the film that will save the DC Extradited Universe. Or will it? Find out below!
"We are not savages. Apes fight only to survive." - Caesar
Welcome back to Everyman Film Reviews! My part-time, non-paying hobby! Today, we're discussing War for the Planet of the Apes (a.k.a. WFTPOTA), the conclusion to the new Planet of the Apes Trilogy! "Stunning!" "Jaw-Dropping!" "Life-Changing!" These are all words that do not describe my review of this movie. Nevertheless, let's begin!
"Apes together strong!" - Caesar
Welcome back, everyone! This is L-Train of Everyman Film Reviews, & today we're looking at 2011's surprise hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, or "ROTPOTA" for you acronym buffs. As you may have guessed, I've rewatched this film as a lead-up to War for the Planet of the Apes, to be released this July. So let's get started!
