So as I said in my "Top 10 Best Films of 2017," there were several major releases this year that I wanted to see, but life got in the way & I ended up missing them. But never fear! I'll get to them eventually. So without further ado, I give you the movies... a list! Of things! *cue epic reveal...*
....aaaaand we're back. Yes, after the cinematic awesomeness that were my "Top 10 Best Films of 2017," it's time to throw on the metaphorical wet blanket as we count up the Top 5 Worst Films of 2017! Yay.... So as was the case in 2016, I didn't actually see a ton of bad movies this year. Mainly because I'm a poor college student without the time/money to waste on objectively bad entertainment! But I've managed to scrape together a few. As with my "Top 10 Best" list, a few things to clear up right away: these aren't necessarily the worst films of the year, just five that I generally didn't care for. They're not even entirely bad; in fact, most of them have a handful of redeeming features. We'll talk about that. But with that out of the way, buckle up. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.
WHOOOAAAAAAA!!!! OHHHHHH!!!! You all know what this post means, right? We've now made it through one FULL YEAR of Everyman Film Reviews! That's right, my first post all the way back in January (second post if you count "Launch!") was the Top 10 Films of 2016! And here we are, at the end of 2017! Now how about that? But anyway, this is a list where I'll count up my favorite movies of the year, with a few Honorable Mentions. Honestly, you probably figured that out from the title. Now many people will tell you 2017 was a pretty rotten year for cinema, but honestly, I thought it was pretty solid. In case you're curious, I saw 26 different movies this year; 21 in cinemas and 5 on streaming. A few important things of note: firstly, there are a few notable movies that probably would've made this list if I'd seen them. They'll be covered in my 2017 Bucket List. And as always, these aren't necessarily the best movies of the year, just the ones I appreciated the most. And no, The Emoji Movie will not make an appearance today. Let's dive in!
Hello again, this is L-Train of Everyman Film Reviews with just a brief heads-up for you guys! Now I know for some time now, you've all been eagerly awaiting my Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi review. As I said in my Roast of Transformers: The Last Knight (man, that movie made me angry...) I have seen The Last Jedi, and while I have my definite opinions on it, it's been about a week since I've seen it and I still haven't started the review. Holidays & stuff, ya know? So I'd like to see the film at least once more to reevaluate it and bring you guys the best review I can. Honestly, it could be awhile. But it will happen. Also, you can expect to hear about it in one of my remaining blog posts for 2017, including "Best of the Year," "Worst of the Year," and my "Yearly Bucket List" (the movies I want to see but haven't gotten to yet). And spoiler alert - I really liked the movie, so don't expect it to show up on the "Worst of the Year." So... I guess that's all for now. Stay tuned, and "Stay classy, San Diego!"
"Oh God, I'm sozzled!" - Merlin
Merry Christmas! So yeah . . . this happened. Still haven't seen Star Wars yet, and I decided that I need to catch up with a few big releases I missed this year. (Mainly to pad out my Best & Worst of 2017 Lists . . . stinger!) And for whatever reason, I decided to start with the most likely turd-bomb I could think of: the latest Transformers movie! So today we're gonna try something a bit different for EFR. It's a new segment called "F-Minus!" Instead of doing my typical spoiler-free/spoiler review, I'm just gonna talk (maybe rant) about this movie for awhile. Full SPOILERS ahead! Not that anyone cares.
*UPDATE*: I've now seen Star Wars, I've been thinking about it all weekend, and I'm still not ready to review it yet. I'd like to get one more viewing in before I make a call on it. So enjoy this instead! "You've been charged with . . . falsifying a unibrow." - Random Security Guy

YOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Unless you've been living under a human-sized rock, you've undoubtedly heard that about a week ago now Marvel broke the Internet by releasing the first trailer for 2018's Avengers: Infinity War. And naturally, I've now seen this trailer close to a dozen times. So today I'm gonna give my thoughts on the aforementioned trailer! Reactions! Speculations! HOT TAKES! These are what await you beyond that "Read More" button, so click it today! Please?
*Fair warning: SPOILERS ahead for all MCU films up to this point - Thor: Ragnarok included!* "Oh, I believe in truth. But I'm also a fan of justice." - A Superman

Surprise, rubberducker! Bet you weren't expecting this, right? Well, EFR is back today with a shorter, bonus post for all four of you loyal readers out there. By now you've all hopefully seen Thor: Ragnarok, and today I'll provide a short synopsis/quasi-review of two other films created by Ragnarok's director, Mr. Taika Waititi. Let's do it!
"Because that's what heroes do." - Thor
