Just kidding! We're gonna talk about the Avengers, guys! This probably won't be a particularly long post . . . just something kinda chill, you feel? So crack open a cold one, grab that acoustic guitar, and lets take a look at first trailer for Avengers: Endgame.
So this is strange . . . finals week here at UND is over and I'm actually still alive. I genuinely couldn't have predicted that. But seeing as I haven't shuffled off this mortal coil just yet, it's probably as good a time as any to offer up my two cents on one particular trailer that came out last week - Alita: Battle Angel.

"This all seems so Shakespearean." - A very meta commentator "Yo Adrian, I made a sequel!" Welcome back everybody, today we're looking at Creed II: Electric Boogaloo - the much-anticipated sequel to Ryan Coogler's Creed (2015), which took the Rocky franchise in a bold new direction. But does the sequel live up to the hype? Can the son of Creed defeat the son of Drago? How are the montages? All this and more will be answered on this edition of Everyman Film Reviews!
"We are Sex Bob-Omb and we're here to make you think about death and get sad and stuff!" - Scott Pilgrim
Wow, welcome back, everyone. What a semester it's been. The last time I wrote anything was way back in August, reviewing the delightful film Christopher Robin. Since then, I've seen . . . a large number of movies, any of which I could've taken time to write about, but guess what? I . . . didn't. Don't worry, I'll make up for it with some bomb 2018 wrap-up posts. So today we're back with something a little different. I wanted to finally write all about a movie I've grown to adore in the past year, and do it unrestrained by my typical "Review - non-spoiler/spoiler" format. So with that said, let's take a look at Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
"I always get to where I'm going by walking away from where I've been." - Winnie The Pooh
Welcome back, everyone! Today we've got a review for a movie that, let's be honest, nobody expected me to care about. Ant-Man & The Wasp? Not today. Skyscraper? Get it outta here! Mission: Impossible - Fallout? Okay, maybe soon enough. But today, we're talking Christopher Robin: the live-action, family-friendly Winnie-the-Pooh film! So hit that "Read More" button to find out just how adorable this version of Pooh is. (Spoiler alert: he's pretty damn adorable . . .)
A year after the first thrill ride hit theaters, Baby Driver director Edgar Wright has strongly implied that a follow-up may already be in the works. But could any potential sequel possibly justify its existence? Welcome back, everyone! No, this isn't a review of Incredibles 2 or even Jurassic World: Tokyo Drift (sorry, I meant "Fallen Kingdom," must be confusing it with another incredibly stupid movie.) But hey, what the hell, let's slap a grade on each of 'em quick for no real reason.
Incredibles 2: Pretty fun, not as good as the first. EFR-Certified Film Grade: B+ Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom: Let's just say you'll be seeing more about this movie on a certain list towards the end of the year. EFR-Certified Film Grade: D Sweet, now that that's out of the way, let's get down to today's real topic. Last week I was procrastinating at work, like you do, when I came across a news story that really intrigued me. Basically, Edgar Wright, my favorite director and the creator of Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim, and most recently Baby Driver, stated on Twitter that the enigmatic getaway driver "could get back on the road real soon." Yup, you read that right. "Baby Driver 2" could be coming to a theater near you very soon. But I got to thinking, do I really want to see that movie? Let's talk about it! "Han . . . Solo, then." - Some Random Imperial Officer
Welcome back, everyone! So Solo: A Star Wars Story hit theaters over Memorial Day weekend to . . . mixed reception, to say the least. So today we'll be looking at Solo - the origin story that answers all the questions about a character that you may or may not have wanted to know! I hope I'm not prematurely giving away my thoughts on this movie . . . regardless, let's dive in!
"I just saw the ad. I thought it looked fun." - Peter
Welcome back, everyone! Today on Everyman Film Reviews we're talking Deadpool 2: the follow-up the wildly successful superhero comedy of 2016. Does it live up to the original? How do Deadpool's "X-Force" look? And what about the Dubstep? Find out below!
"It was the only way" - Dr. Steven Strange
Well here we are. A decade of cinematic history has been leading to this: a movie that has been hyped up since Thanos first reared his ugly head in the post-credit stinger of The Avengers. That's right, Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters this weekend, and of course, I just had to see it opening night. So today we're talking non-spoilers, as broadly & briefly as I can, and then we'll get into the nitty-gritty of just what the F#CK did I watch?! Let's do it.
*P.S: While I will be trying to provide as much evenhanded criticism of this film as I can, I really have no objectivity here. You've been warned!* *P.P.S: I'm finishing up this review really late because, finals week guys. Whatcha gonna do?* Welcome back, everyone! You're reading Everyman Film Reviews, and we're just a few days away from the release of Avengers: Infinity War. No biggie, it's not like I've been waiting for this movie since I was, oh . . . 12 years old? But anyway - over the past month or so I've taken it upon myself to prepare for Infinity War by rewatching all 18 installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. Talk about commitment, right? So today I'd like to give you a brief rundown on each film and where I think they rank in the MCU! That's right - it's The Great Marvel Rewatch of 2018! (trademark pending) Now, I just have one question:
So, guess what, guys?! Instead of seeing Ready Player One this Friday night, which I've been trying to get to for a few weeks, I ended up going along to not one but TWO comedies! Good thing though, because they were both pretty enjoyable. So today I'd like to briefly discuss each of 'em: what I liked, what I didn't like, and then pit them against each other and arbitrarily decide which one is superior for no real reason! You know . . . fair, objective criticism & stuff. Let's do it!
